"I had two very cherished lovers, in recent years, who dumped me with the declaration that they were sad, in a rut, and unable to cheer up or love. Another cliché is born, the one of the joyless citizen. Depression is just around the corner, and it is dramatic. It looks nowadays like it is acceptable and widespread that any person could suffer and succumb to an excess of sad feelings. Really, it's happening, yes. Reached security and stability, in the safety of our comfortable wi-fied, surplus laden lives, something major still escapes us, mirth. This is incredibly terrible and needs work, this chronic unhappiness. The one found in spoiled kids to be clear is like a plague, solutions are needed to free them from this undesirable state and recognize it for what it is, an emotional state. It's intangible and resides in your mind and you can control it.

All that is needed to develop a serene character is critical thinking, the ancient nosce te ipsum (know thyself). We need to develop our character and make conscious choices, rein in crippling feelings, which do pass and are no tragedy, and resist the easy abyss of self-pity. It takes courage, it takes strength, Anybody can do it." - Angela Mauri
